PEOPLE who frequent Port Dickson can finally rejoice. In a recent update by Port Dickson Municipal Council (MPPD), the blue tent rental activities at Telok Kemang Beach, which have frequently caused disputes between traders and the public, will cease effective November 18.
The MPPD has expressed concerns that certain activities are damaging the area’s reputation as a premier beach resort.
“Some traders are discouraging the public from visiting the beach,” the council noted.
In response, MPPD has issued an order to halt the rental of blue tents at Tanjung Biru Beach and Cermin Beach.
Some netizens, however, were skeptical towards the implementation of the order, believing that these individuals should return in two to three months time.
Another netizen was impatient for it to be implemented.
This decision is part of a broader effort to enhance the tent rental business along Port Dickson’s coast.
The council has warned that any obstacles not removed in compliance with the notice will be taken away without further notice.
“Tent operators must ensure they clean up and remove all equipment, including tables, chairs, umbrellas, and storage structures,” MPPD emphasised.
Additionally, the Negeri Sembilan state government has indicated plans to engage in discussions with tent operators near Telok Kemang Beach. – Oct 29, 2024
