TWENTY-EIGHT beauty queens put up a spectacular performance to compete in Mrs Malaysia Universe 2022 and Mrs Elite Malaysia Universe 2022 Grand Final at the Mega Star Arena in Kuala Lumpur over the weekend.
But it was banker Amanda Ong, 38 and accountant Rachel Saw, 45 who won the hearts of the judges. “I believe life is full of potential and let us live the fullest of it,” said Ong in her short witty self-introduction and eventually bagging the Mrs Malaysia Universe 2022 title.
On the other hand, Saw in her interview with Focus Malaysia believes women should bring out the best version of themselves and shine in every moment. And she shone her way to win the Mrs Elite Malaysia Universe 2022 title.
After having been postponed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mrs Malaysia Universe 2022 and Mrs Elite Malaysia Universe 2022 are back for their ninth year, bigger and grander than ever.
Themed New Age of Women Empowerment Together, the pageant re-opens the door for women to empower themselves with knowledge, talents, beauty and charisma.
“Mrs Malaysia Universe has transformed women in ways beyond our expectations,” opined Lim Siew Cheng, founder of Yinzi Event & Marketing and organiser of this pageant. “It has become more than a business to me but part of my life. The contestants, sponsors, business partners and guests become my family for nine years.”
She added: “Yes, nine years of empowering women and we want to continue this endeavour. The new-age women now are stronger after the pandemic and let us all continue to light up the torch of women empowerment.”
The event was well-attended by family and friends of the contestants, former and reigning beauty queens, entrepreneurs, business owners and many dignitaries.
The contestants were judged by their ability to carry themselves on stage, their personality and charisma as well as talent by a panel of 16 judges, comprising industry players, former beauty queens, corporate leaders and fashionistas.
