THE iPhone 16 Pro series has received noticeably less buzz compared to its predecessors, despite a simultaneous release in both the US and Malaysia—a departure from previous years when the iPhone 15 launched a week later in Malaysia.
A local reviewer recently encountered performance issues with the device, reporting significant lag during his review.
Adding to users’ dissatisfaction is Apple’s pricing for the base Pro Max model, which stands at RM5,999. While the price has dropped by RM500 due to currency adjustments, many consumers still feel the cost does not align with the product’s performance.

An X user stated that they would let the reviewers experience the phone first before purchasing. But the user said that they can’t afford the phone anyway while witnessing reviewers running into alleged problems with their devices.

Netizens report that their older phones, which are from Samsung rather than Apple, are performing well. Another concern is that iPhones are allegedly less durable than their competitors’ phones when it comes to impact. However, some users claimed that their older phones are more robust.

Some users speculated that the reviewer might have conducted a drop test on the phone. But this is not typical of conventional reviewers, who usually review the phone before performing any drop tests. Others believed that Apple fans might not be pleased to see this. – Sept 21, 2024
