MSMEs set for digital transformation boost with ‘Malaysia Madani’ digital grant

IN a progressive move towards further establishing the Digital Economy as a strategic engine of growth for the country, the Malaysian government through the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), BSN Bank and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) recently announced the MSME Digital Grant under the ‘Malaysia Madani’ initiative as part of Budget 2023.

This collective effort aims to accelerate the digital transformation of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Malaysia, according to MDEC senior vice president Gopi Ganesalingam.

“We at MDEC have joined forces with strategic digital partners to catalyse the digital leap for Malaysian MSMEs. The MSME digital grant ‘Malaysia Madani’ initiative stands as a testament to our collective commitment towards nurturing a digital-savvy business ecosystem and fuelling a resilient, inclusive and sustainable economy,” Gopi pointed out.

“Together, we will chart a transformative journey, fostering digital adoption and innovation among MSMEs across the nation.”

Eligible MSMEs stand to gain a subsidy of up to 50% with a maximum of RM5,000 generously provided by the government to facilitate their adoption of digital technologies.

Building on this commitment, SiteGiant, a leading Malaysian e-commerce solution provider, has officially come on board as a key partner to this initiative.

“Our endeavour since 2013 has been to spearhead e-commerce innovation,” remarked its founder and CEO Stanley Lim.

“Having assisted over 10,000 SMEs in their digital journeys, we would like to encourage SMEs to embrace this grant and the growth potential it brings with SiteGiant’s Omnichannel e-commerce solutions.”

The company’s renowned proficiency in offering comprehensive digital solutions – from online store setups to payment integrations – positions it as an ideal partner to support MSMEs in their digital endeavours.

“In essence, the ‘Malaysia Madani’ MSME Digital Grant serves as an essential stepping stone for local businesses to thrive in the digital age,” added Lim.

Currently, SiteGiant has an expansive database housing 8.4 million SMEs, 52,000 active sellers from seven countries and RM6.2 bil sales volume in 2022.

MSMEs eager to benefit from the MSME Digital Grant MADANI initiative must satisfy several criteria.

When it comes to digital solutions for MSMEs, SiteGiant offers a wide range. Its Webstore Solution allows businesses to choose from an array of over 70 themes, each customisable to resonate with the brand’s ethos.

Moreover, SiteGiant’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution serves as an all-encompassing hub, streamlining operations across various platforms like Lazada, Shopee and TikTok Shop.

On the retail front, SiteGiant’s integrated POS (point-of-sale) solution ensures harmony between offline and online sales, preventing stock discrepancies.

Their Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a testament to operational efficiency, boasting the capacity to handle over 10,000 orders daily. Lastly, the OMO Mobile App by SiteGiant enriches the consumer journey, making shopping a more personalised and rewarding experience.

This opportunity remains available for eligible MSMEs until the earmarked RM100 mil finds its rightful beneficiaries. – Oct 24, 2023
