Muhyiddin finally congratulates Anwar, promises to be “check and balance” in govt

PERIKATAN Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has – finally – extends his congratulations to his political rival Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for being appointed the 10th prime minister.

“With the Federal Government led by Pakatan Harapan, PN will play a check and balance role in the Parliament by bringing the voice of the people in line with the principles of parliamentary democracy.”

“Moving forward, PN will continue its struggle for the sake of the people’s wellbeing and the country’s prosperity as guided by PN’s “Prihatin, Bersih, Stabil” (caring, clean, stable) principles.

Just yesterday, Muhyiddin had insisted that he commands the majority support of MPS to lead the government.

In a press conference, he called on Anwar to prove that he has the support of the majority of MPs to become the prime minister.

Muhyiddin insisted that he was not disputing the formation of a unity government but Anwar’s appointment as prime minister.

He further stressed that he had 115 statutory declarations (SDs) of MPs backing him as the prime minister as required by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun. – Nov 25, 2022
