Musa Aman acquitted of 46 corruption, money-laundering charges

Former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman has been acquitted of 46 corruption and money-laundering charges in relation to timber concessions in the state, reported Free Malaysia Today.

Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Muhammad Jamil Hussin granted the acquittals today after the prosecution said it was withdrawing all charges against Musa.

Musa’s lawyer Ng Aik Guan confirmed with the news portal that his client has been acquitted.

Musa, who was Sabah’s chief minister from 2003 to 2018, faced 30 corruption charges involving US$50.1 mil and 16 money-laundering charges involving US$37.8 mil and S$2.5 mil. – June 9, 2020
