A NUMBER of social media influencers have voiced their disgust as to why male religious personalities who are supposed to portray piousness are not ashamed to indulge in disgusting acts such as sodomy, rape, sexual abuse or engage in obscene acts.
This came about as celebrity preacher Azman Syah Alias or better known as PU (Pencetus Ummah or Ummah Initiator) Azman was sentenced on Friday (Sept 27) to 24 years in jail and two strokes of the rotan by the Klang Sessions Court after being found guilty of two charges of sexual assault against a boy who was 17 in 2022.
Sessions Court judge Noridah Adam in her ruling decided that the prosecution had successfully proven its case beyond reasonable doubt and PU Azman, 43, was guilty as charged.
Noridah also turned down the request for stay of execution by counsel Mohamad Zahid Ahmad on grounds that there were no special circumstances for the court to consider and ordered the Negri Sembilan-born PU Azman to serve his sentence in the Kajang Prison.
“The actual culprits who often insult Islam in this country are not non-Muslims but religious riders like GISBH (Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings Sdn Bhd) and celebrity preachers like Syed (Shah Iqmal Syed Mohd Shaiful a.k.a. PU Syed) and this fella (PU Azman),” lamented Aisehman (@Aisehman) in a post on the X platform.

For the record, fellow celebrity preacher PU Syed had on Aug 30 been sentenced to a 10-year jail term and three strokes of the rotan by the Shah Alam Sessions Court after being found guilty of raping a woman five years ago.
Back then, another pro-unity government supporter Amer Hamzah (@amer7211) had taken a swipe at the Muslim society for easily “uplifting” the status of freelance preachers, notably to the “Da’i (preacher) status” upon winning the TV3’s Da’i Pendakwah Nusantara programme or even to ustaz upon winning the Astro’s Pencetus Ummah reality TV programme.
“Or even acknowledging as ulama (Islamic scholar) those who address (big crowd) at mosques with obscene stories,” he hit out with reference to PAS life member Ustaz Azhar Idrus who recently caused a stir by linking political opposition to martyrdom (mati syahid) while insinuating resistance against Malay rulers.
Interestingly, a commenter who claimed to be working in the “HIV Unit (of presumably public hospital) for six years” shared some characteristics of what he described as “bottom gay” traits that the society needs to be wary of.
