MANY Muslims netizens have chastised the action of a fellow Muslim who went on rampage by destroying what is seemingly some Taoist deities at a non-Muslim place of worship as not reflective of genuine Islamic teaching.
This follows the uploading of a video clip depicting the perpetrator using his foot to destroy Taoist deities while claiming that his action was an act of revenge prompted by the deliberate action of non-Muslims in insulting Islam while the authorities turn a blind eye to such misdemeanour.
As such, the fanatic perpetrator reckoned the need to take the law into his own hands to correct the injustice against Islam as well as to restore the latter’s honour.

But thankfully. such barbaric action is opposed by Muslims at large who deem Islam as a religion of peace. Neither has Islam taught its followers to undermine other faiths even though they pray to multiple gods/deities.
Some netizens went on to hashtag the relevant authorities to take swift action by identifying and nabbing the perpetrator.
One went as far as calling Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail to step in for “the more the wait, the more this kind of element and things will take place”.
Another asked to tag UMNO Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh whom he deemed as being the key provocateur in the in what is seemingly “an uncontrollable mess now”.
Some netizens teased the perpetrator’s ignorance that the deity he had kicked is actually the “Dato Keramat/Dato Gong who is a Muslim”.
As some netizens have figured out, the whole event could be orchestrated by some irresponsible quarters to incite racial and religious discord among Malaysians. – April 7, 2024
