IN what is seemingly a tit-for-tat, Malay Muslims are demanding owner of the “Vijayan Savarinathan” Facebook account who allegedly made offensive remarks against Islam to seek apology at the National Mosque after having trolled him out of his hiding in Australia’s Victoria state.
Incredibly, they coordinated so superbly to trace the Johor-born 49-year-old’s Australian dwelling and address till Vijayan whose 49-second video which contained vulgarities and insults against Muslims has to eat the humble pie by surfacing to “sincerely apologise to all Malay Muslims”.
For the unanimated, the Masjid Negara venue for Vijayan to seek apology is in retaliation to the action of the ERA FM deejay trio who showed up at the Batu Caves temple to seek forgiveness from the Indian Hindu community for their insensitive Thaipusam gaffe.

While some refused to accept his apology which has since gone viral – and in fact, demanded that his citizenship be revoked – a handful of Malay Muslims insisted that Vijayan “return home to seek forgiveness at the National Mosque”.
For the record, Bukit Aman has launched an investigation into the March 5 video uploaded by Vijayan who has since regretted for having been carried away by that “spur of anger” emanated by the action of the three ERA FM presenters. The clip is believed to have been deleted after receiving public backlash.
Going back a little further, the concerted effort to pressure Vijayan out of hiding is testament that Malay Muslims are capable to achieve greatness if they can put their mind and soul into their effort.
This includes encroaching into his privacy by viralling the location of his Victoria residence to writing – in decent English – to various Australian authorities to prevent Vijayan from being granted asylum on grounds of his personal safety.
Whatever the case is, Vijayan has recently be named alongside controversial Muslim convert preacher Zamri Vinoth, Saravanan Sanmugom and Crime_Man (name on the TikTok application) for having fanned 3R (race, religion, royalty) by provoking, insulting and ridiculing the religion of others on social media platforms.
“I’m giving a stern warning to all not to repeat these irresponsible acts,” its minister Datuk Aaron Aro Dagang had recently pointed out.
“Strict action through Section 298 of the Penal Code, Section 504 of the Penal Code, Section 505 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 must be taken to ensure that the safety and harmony of the community is always preserved.” – March 10, 2025
