RECENTLY, Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd (Mydin) managing director, Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin in a viral video said influencer Khairul Aming could take as much stock as needed to help the flood victims.
“Take as much as you want and you don’t need to send a child, a credit card, or anything. Just let us know the credit limit you need, whether it’s RM20,000, RM50,000, or RM100,000,” he said in the 56-second video, adding that he trusted Khairul Aming.
According to Berita Harian in a post on X, the man mentioned that any payment can be resolved after the flood disaster is over.

However, quite a number of netizens are unimpressed, stating that the rich businessman should not have asked Khairul Aming for payment in the first place, since it was an act of charity.
Some netizens, however, defended Mydin, stating that the corporation needed to contend with the cost of operation such as staff salary and such.
Netizen Arizky Helmi added that Mydin had to donate according to their ability, and that business was still business.
Another netizen claimed Khairul Aming is sure to get a special price, aka discount from Mydin, which was similar to a donation.
To recap, recently Khairul Aming was organising large-scale aid for flood victims in his home state of Kelantan.
He alongside a small team of volunteers could be seen providing basic necessities to the victims at two flood centres in Pasir Mas.
Perhaps these acts of charity earned him this interesting endorsement from ozy namizo.
On a separate note, despite many requests for his account number to receive donations, Khairul Aming stressed that he had no permit to do so and was concerned about neglecting the trust of the public. —Dec 3, 2024
