WHETHER this is a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black or otherwise, now incarcerated former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak has given his mentor Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad a dose of his own medicine after the later branded as “dictatorship” the move to allegedly bar the “Malay Proclamation” gathering from taking place yesterday (March 19).
Apparently intended as a quick lesson to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the disciple in Najib ‘had a laugh of his life’ when “Mr ISA calls others dictators”.
“Block him and his family from leaving the country before making charges,” the former Pekan MP penned on his Facebook (FB) page (Editor’s Note: The view might be expressed on Najib’s behalf by a third party). “Put a roadblock in front of the road leading to his house.”
Elaborating on the roadblock proposal in a separate FB post, Najib recalled that soon after the 2018 national polls, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under Dr Mahathir and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as home minister “blocked and checked who was going in and out of Najib’s house”.
“A makeshift guard booth was erected at the entrance of the alley leading to Najib’s house which is located at the other end. Not to keep security but to filter who can go in and out,” explained Najib.
“All visitors entering or exiting the alley must register with the police by handing over their MyKad. This situation continued for about a month. The purpose was to discourage Najib’s friends and relatives from visiting him. At that time, everyone was afraid to visit Najib.”

It became rather harsh sounding and inhumane to say the least when Najib suggested to the government of the day to “wait until the night before Ramadan” to act on his former mentor.
“Get the media over to watch and do live coverage. Search his entire house for several days,” he went on. “Change the Attorney-General (AG), change the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) chief, change the Chief Justice, change the BNM (Bank Negara Malaysia) Governor, change the Police chief.”
But that’s not all for there’s also a need “to freeze all bank accounts belonging to him and his family (including those of his grandchildren)”.
“His party’s bank accounts must also be frozen. File a suit to forfeit his property and have it confiscated first, talk later,” Najib further opined.
“Charge him, all his family members and his lawyers with dozens of ridiculous accusations including IRB (Inland Revenue Board) demands. If he takes a day of MC (medical certificate), hold his doctor for questioning.”
In short, Najib implied that Anwar is “only worthy to be called a dictator” if he is capable of “doing what (Dr) Mahathir did to Najib and his family”. – March 20, 2023
