INTELLIGENT data infrastructure outfit NetApp today announced the appointments of Singaporean Sheraine Chua (main pic, left) as its senior director for ASEAN and Malaysian Alwyn David as country manager for NetApp Malaysia.
With ASEAN bring a highly diverse yet fast growing region, NetApp requires a holistic approach and strong leadership to better meet its customers’ ever-evolving needs as werll as to support its ecosystem in the region, according to its Asia Pacific senior vice president and general manager Andrew Sotiropoulos.
“With their deep expertise and background in the IT industry, I am confident that the addition of Sheraine and Alwyn to our leadership team will fortify NetApp’s position as the intelligent data infrastructure company across the ASEAN markets,” justified Sotiropoulos.
Chua boasts more than 25 years of experience leading high-performance sales teams across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and the Asia Pacific (APAC) regions.
In her new role, she will spearhead the company’s go-to-market strategy and strengthen NetApp’s ecosystem in ASEAN.
Prior to joining NetApp, Chua was the EMEA channel sales director at Adobe where she successfully steered the company’s EMEA channel business. She has also held leadership roles at Seagate, Western Digital, Belkin and Packard Bell.

In his new role as country manager for NetApp Malaysia, David has been entrusted to drive the company’s local strategy and growth while helping organisations harness their data to drive innovation and create impactful business outcomes.
A software developer by training, David has amassed over three decades of experience in various leadership roles across technology firms, including Dell, Telekom Malaysia, EMC, IBM, SAP and Microsoft.
Prior to joining NetApp, he served as the head of sales for Maxis where he led the team in driving telco and managed network solutions as well as cloud and IOT (Internet of Things) services for the company’s greenfield customers.
