Netizens back PMX after CheGuBard snubs him for reading “sensual pleasure-provoking fiction””

PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin a.k.a. CheGuBard’s attempt to undermine Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PMX) by disputing the content of “Until August” – a posthumous novel of Gabriel Garcia Marquez – read by the latter was a futile one.

“I thought the book that Brother Non (Anwar’s nickname) was reading is a philosophy book by Ibu Khaldun, Confucius, Plato or that of nation-building such as Wealth of a Nation by Adam Smith, leadership books etc,” teased the National Bersatu information committee member in a recent Facebook post.

“It seems that the book Until August is a fiction book, a fantasy of sexual lust of a middle-aged wife who cheats on her husband, changes her male partner every year.”

This comes about as a PN cybertrooper Solisidtor (@Solisidtor) came under attack by pro-Pakatan Harapan (PH) netizens for joining the opposition chorus to humiliate PMX over his choice of reading material.

“Why don’t you comment on the great book written by the late Gabriel Garcia Marquez entitled 100 Years of Solitude which was sold more than 50 million copies worldwide that has been read by PMX?” berated ReeN 🇵🇸 (@ReeNGaston) on X (previously Twitter). “What type of lawyer is this?”

Added ReeN 🇵🇸: “Moreover, Until August is the last work of the late author. As a bookworm, surely PMX will not miss the opportunity to read his last work which was published 10 years after his death. Of course, fans of Marquez’s work are looking forward for his final content.”

Other netizens reckoned that the opposition faction us digging into whatever they can find to divert the success of PMX in gaining international recognition for the country.

Indeed, different genre of books have different appeal but the bottom line is a good reading habit makes a beneficial pastime.

At the end of the day,  Solisidtor who claims to be a general litigation lawyer deserves the brickbats hurled by netizens over his shortsightedness – March 20, 2024
