PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had an audience with the Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Al-Yamamah Palace on Saturday (Oct 21).
Some of Anwar’s supporters are drooling over the audience which contrasts with his previous Umrah trip, where he did not meet top royal family members.
In March this year, PAS and Perikatan Nasional along with former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad’s supporters flooded the internet claiming Anwar had failed in his Saudi visit. They threw all sorts of theories, pointing to Anwar not meeting with King Salman or the Crown Prince Mohammed affectionately known as MBS.
On TikTok, some influencers wrote, “Shameful history of the nation, unable to meet three main leaders of Saudi Arabia, sympathies Anwar.”

In a TikTok video last month, Dr Mahathir was heard commenting on the March visit by Anwar to Saudi Arabia. He said there must have been many reasons why the Saudi King or MBS ‘refused’ to meet Anwar.

Yesterday (Oct 21), Anwar had a four-eye meeting thanks to the MBS’ ‘personal’ invitation to Anwar after Saudi Arabia hosted the first-ever Asean-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit in the capital here on Friday (Oct 20).
MBS and Anwar discussed the ongoing Palestinian-Israel conflict that flared up again on Oct 7.

However, a user, @twt_lutfi asked why the PM’s or Pakatan Harapan’s media and information services did not spread the video of Anwar meeting MBS all over the social media landscape.

(This kind of video if it was about Kedah MB Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor or Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, there would be many of their gangs who would repost the edits on TikTok for 10 days and 10 nights. But the government team is very slow.)
As for @daddydon65, he was more clear in his message to opposition parties.
