Netizens fume over filial Nooryana claiming Bossku’s jailing is based on “hearsay”

IT’S raining brickbats on Malaysiakini’s Facebook comment section as Nooryana Najwa Najib took to the social media to accuse the judicial authorities that her beloved father and ex-premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak was imprisoned on “hearsay”.

Top of her list was that the alleged mastermind and fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho a,k,a. Jho Low did not testify during the trial at the Kuala Lumpur High Court as he could not be located by the authorities.

She also decried that an unknown person who forged 20 bank transfer cheques was never found as well “but the person’s family took close to RM700 mil from (Jho) Low” and so did the lawyer who prepared the agreements and was purportedly paid money by Jho Low was never charged and did not testify as well.

“A High Court judge, the Appeals Court judges and certainly Federal Court justices DO NOT make judgments based on hearsay. Hearsay is the first thing we learn in Evidence Class in law school,” netizen Vernon Kedit gave Nooryana a law lecture.

“There is a high standard of proving a case. Hearsay is thrown out the moment it is submitted and your lawyers wouldn’t even submit hearsay evidence because they know they’d be laughed out of court! Who do you think you’re fooling with your lies? Enough. Stop thinking Malaysians are uneducated or illiterate!”

Kevin Tan challenged Nooryana to sue the Malaysian Government, the judiciary and all other relevant authorities for miscarriage of justice since she is having such idea of hearsay “and perhaps starting a new circus again”.

Shira Hza opined that Bossku’s eldest daughter from his marriage to former first lady and Najib’s second wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor should be charged for slandering the panel of five Federal Court judges led by Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat who upheld the Pekan MP’s conviction of a 12-year jail sentence and RM210 mil fine for embezzling RM42 mil of funds belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd.

“Disrespectful to the court,” asserted the netizen as Alvin Joseph chipped in with “plus another four judges”, referring to High Court judge Datuk Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali who found Najib guilty on July 28, 2020 and three Court of Appeal judges who had described the offences committed by the appellant as “a national embarrassment”.

Sarcastically, Johnny Ong suggested that Najwa’s father should have sacked “ALL his lawyers and just have this daughter defend him in court!” “She seems to know the facts of the case and the law better than the judges,” quipped the netizen.

A polite Zull Ismail reminded the 35 year-old who described herself as being a “PowerPoint” and photocopying girl during her internship at an organisation recommended by disgraced ex-Goldman Sachs bank partner Tim Leissner that “if your father can call J Low and (former SRC International’s CEO) Nik Faisal (Ariff Kamil) maybe he can escape the jail term, but you must think also there is (sic) a lot more cases that your father have to answer”.

Skyler Skyler further reminded the filial daughter who has been actively defending Najib with her famous catch-phrase of “Bossku does not end here” that Nik Faisal left the country under the watch of Barisan Nasional (BN) when her father was still the PM.

“What more she want (sic) to say?” asked the netizen. “(Former Bank Negara Governor Tan Sri) Zeti (Akhtar Aziz) was offered as a defence witness in the SRC trial but was not taken up by Najib and his lawyers,” the netizen took Nooryana down memory lane.

“He had the opportunity to interview Zeti and, if desired, to call her to testify as a defence witness.” – Aug 28, 2022
