Netizens furious over abandoned newborn in the bushes

RECENTLY, the sleepy village of Kampung Permatang, Sitiawan was awoken by the loud cries of a newborn in the bushes.

He was found by a prayer hall official with the umbilical cord still intact.

The video post on X by MYNEWSHUB showed the rescue efforts as well as the condition of the child when first found, which gripped the hearts of netizens.

Many of them came forth to condemn the parents as well as share their experience.

Rulduff said that it was soon to be 2025 yet some Malaysians are still primitive to throw away their babies.

“There are many different channels that you can ask for help from if you don’t want the baby,” he added.

One netizen said appropriately that the baby could have been placed at the front door of a house or a mosque. 

Syipa claimed that she cried watching the video, stating that the person had every intention to kill. She added that if the person loved the child, she would have wrapped him up in a cloth or blanket and placed it in a safe place.

Also, AnizNordin said that if the country possessed a DNA bank, it would have been easy to trace it back to the mother. 

A netizen suffering from endometriosis shared that her doctor once said, “I find it strange that people who had forbidden sex or raped were easy to conceive a child while my patients all struggle for eight to nine years to get a baby.”

The child had since been handed over to Hospital Seri Manjung for further treatment.

On another note, police officers are tracking the biological parents and the case is currently being investigated under Section 317 penal code for throwing a baby. —Dec 17, 2024
