Netizens joke about Permatang Pauh MP’s question on ferry frequencies in Penang

PENANG has recently started a new ferry operation. There are several instances where the use of these ferries is needed rather than using the Penang bridge when entering the island.

However, users have decided to poke fun at the entire situation following a question in Parliament from the Permatang Pauh MP Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad.According to reports, Penang’s new fleet of ferries officially commenced in August, with the first voyage departing at 6.30am from Butterworth’s Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim terminal to Penang Island’s Pangkalan Raja Tun Uda terminal. Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow inaugurated the new ferry operations. The four new state-of-the-art ferries, Teluk Bahang, Teluk Kampi, Teluk Duyung and Teluk Kumbar have replaced the iconic ferries and will transport pedestrians and two-wheelers.X users are now having a field day.

@lady_bugg11 re-enacted the dialogue that ensued in Parliament last week.

(Permatang Pauh MP: YB Minister, the people of Penang are complaining because many ferries are damaged.
Minister: How many ferries are damaged?
Permatang Pauh MP: Umm… one.
Minister: That’s not damaged. That is a spare in case any ferry is damaged).

Furthermore, for many, it feels like something that a Perikatan Nasional MP would say, especially with their constant controversial and seemingly wrongful statements.Netizen @samlgk2023 stated:

(One ferry being damaged isn’t enough to make it many. Oh my, how can the voters of Permatang Pauh can choose him. If you don’t have anything to say, it’s better to just stay quiet 😂🤣🤪😆🤦‍♂️)

There are several backlashes against the Permatang Pauh MP for this question.

(Change the name already, MP FERRY. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Take that, people of Permatang Pauh, ungrateful folks that didn’t know how to appreciate Nurul Izzah. Now you get a clueless MP). – Nov 4, 2023
