Netizens tell Khairy to go back to UMNO amid ‘flawed’ analysis on state polls

FORMER health minister Khairy Jamaluddin was given some advice by pro-Pakatan Harapan (PH) Twitter users who said his analysis of the results of the recently concluded state elections is flawed. In an analysis, Khairy advised PH to ditch his former party UMNO, and work with Perikatan Nasional (PN) instead.Besides, Khairy highlighted to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that PH is in a political dilemma after UMNO’s poor performance, winning just 19 out of 108 contested seats. Moreover, Khairy added that Anwar could either persist with his current path, working with UMNO and possibly recommending a royal pardon for former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak or focus on strengthening PKR and Amanah’s appeal among Malays or even explore collaboration with Bersatu in the PN coalition. However, Twitter user @pemikirmsia disagrees with Khairy.

Following that, other users agreed with this solution for Khairy and some are even calling the former minister out, saying he is uncertain and a “snake.”Twitter user @camancher2012 stated:

In lieu of this, it appears that the trust among netizens towards Khairy is still not there. Those who are supporting the coalition government are not keen on his advice. Some brought up the fact that Khairy couldn’t win his last seat in the last election, but he did reduce the vote percentage for PH in Sungai Buloh.Furthermore, Twitter user @pemikirmsia said:

(I am one of his harshest critics but I cannot deny his effectiveness. He was parachuted in at the last minute and reduced our 25K+ majority in PRU14 to 2K+ in PRU15. Malay youths / general public respond to him.) – Aug 19, 2023
