Netizens tell Tun M they also want to get billions easily like his sons

FORMER premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has expressed concern that the Malays might face extinction with the wave of Bangladeshi workers coming to Malaysia, urging them to unite now or face the inevitable.

Seen speaking at an event where he is the main speaker, Dr Mahathir asked the crowd why they thought the Bangladeshi citizens were flocking to Malaysia. He answered that Malays do not want to do the hard work.

He then said he would not say again that Malays were lazy and asked for forgiveness on the matter. “Forgive me (ampun, minta maaf),” he said in Malay to the laughter of the crowd.

Netizens on the X platform are twisting Dr Mahathir’s speech into a joke, telling him that they too would like to do the easy tasks like his sons who became billionaires.

(It’s not that we don’t want to work hard like the people of Bangladesh. We just want to do easy work like your kids who have billions. Anyway, working very hard makes people sweat a lot and this can spread body odour when we take the train.)

Another X user however advised the followers on the platform not to take Dr Mahathir’s comments seriously. The user said the MACC went after Tun Daim Zainuddin and that brought Dr Mahathir to start talking a lot.

(Guys! Don’t bother about what grandpa (Dr Mahathir) said. Just ignore it. It is true that there are trees that can live for a hundred years, but in the end, the tree still dies.

(Daim is being investigated, then he (Mahathir) started ranting, Mirzan Mahathir is being investigated, his statement is recorded and asked to declare his assets while Dr Mahathir started to rant like a chicken that lost its child.) – Jan 21, 2023
