Netizens troll Saifuddin Abdullah after he blocks Rais Hussin from Twitter feed

YESTERDAY, former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) supreme council member Rais Hussin took to social media to rue over Foreign Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah’s decision to block him for the latter’s Twitter feed.

Taking to the social media platform, Rais said: “It’s his every right! But (only) as a minister who advocates ‘new politics’…”

Voicing support for Rais’ comments, user Zakwan said:

“Even (his) daughter who regularly talks about new politics post GE14 dropped out of Twitter since then.”

Echoing Zakwan’s sentiments, user Jali Razali added:

(In the past, Saifuddin’s daughter used to promote her batik cakes on social media…now disappeared since the Sheraton Move)

Recently, it was reported by the media that two Malaysian senior diplomats were recalled from the UAE and put under “cold storage” following the debacle over Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s visit to the Gulf nation on March.

Due to an unspecified blunder, Ismail Sabri was forced to wait long at the arrival hall for passport and Immigration clearance by the Dubai Immigration.

The duo are Datuk Mohd Tarid Sufian, who is the Malaysian ambassador to the UAE and Mohd Hasril Abdul Hamid, the Dubai-based Consul-General of Malaysia.

However, several quarters including his predecessor, Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, have pointed out that Saifuddin should shoulder blame for the fiasco as the latter was running the Foreign Ministry and he should have left for the UAE earlier to check on the prime minister’s arrival itinerary.

He will be out after general election

On that note, user Dominic Damian Jan 1513 said that any politicians who block taxpayers from asking legitimate questions to the elected leaders are cowards.

Netizen Ahmad Shahrir Ismail noted:

With that said, Rais, the former chairman of Multimedia Development Corporation remarked: “It is his right bro! Cuma (Just that) he talks about ‘new politics’ but he is anything but new politics.

“Knew him since 1985! Has yet to see any significant change in him except changing parties!!” – April 16, 2022
