THE number of new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia registered 24,316 new patients within the last 24 hours, with 297 of them being imported cases.
This now brings the country’s total to 4,045,749 since the pandemic began.
According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, 25,512 patients have recovered since yesterday (March 24), bringing the number to a total of 3,796,975 patients discharged since the COVID-19 outbreak began.
However, the nation’s hospitalisation rate is still high at 65.8%, with the intensive care units (ICUs) reaching 58.4% capacity.
Currently, 321 people are being treated in ICUs with a majority of them (194) in need of ventilator support.
There is still a high number fatalities recorded, standing at 64 deaths with 18 patients brought in dead (BID), bringing the death toll to 34,664.
Meanwhile, the total number of active cases in the country now stands at 247,603, with 96.9% of them (239,934) are being subjected to home quarantine. – March 25, 2022
