AS of 9am today (Oct 21), Malaysia reported 5,516 new daily COVID-19 cases, according to the Health Ministry’s COVIDNOW website.
This marks the fourth day that the country’s number of new cases remained below the 6,000 level, which shows promise despite interstate travel now being allowed.
Out of the new cases, 14 of them are imported cases.
There were also 9,401 patients that recovered within the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 2,297,289.
Meanwhile, a total of 76 deaths were recorded this morning since Oct 20, adding to the total casualty count of 28,138 COVID-19 patients.
Additionally, out of the current number of 81,955 active cases that are being handled, 76.7% of them are being home quarantined while 337 more are admitted in intensive care units (ICUs) and another 329 patients are in need of ventilator support. – Oct 21, 2021
