New COVID-19 daily cases finally decreased to less than 10,000 with 12 deaths

AS THE festive season approaches, Malaysians are blessed with good news as the number of daily COVID-19 cases goes down below the 10,000, standing at 8,112 on Monday (April 11) with 25 of them being imported cases.

This brings the country’s total number of cases to 4,325,818 since the pandemic began.

The number of COVID-19 deaths have also decreased dramatically to only 12 patients with four from that brought in dead (BID), bringing the death toll to 35,292.

According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, 15,765 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the number to a total of 4,144,728 patients discharged since the COVID-19 outbreak started.

The number of hospital beds being used around the country has reached 59.4%, with the intensive care units (ICUs) at 51.8% capacity.

Currently, 174 people are being treated in ICUs with a majority of them (110) in need of ventilator support.

Meanwhile, the total number of active cases in the country has been on a positive decline, standing at 145,798, with 97.7% of them (142,513) being subjected to home quarantine. – April 11, 2022
