THE Health Ministry (MOH) has reported 2,733 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative total to 398,451.
In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also reported that 2,019 patients have recovered from the infection., with the total discharged now stands at 371,575.
“Of the current 25,414 active cases, 294 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 138 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked.
He also noted that 13 people have succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,462.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases again (750), followed by Kelantan (484) and Sarawak (423).
On a related matter, Dr Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected 11 new clusters in the country.
Meanwhile, Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the ban on interstate travel will not be lifted for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, except between recovery movement control order (RMCO) states under the green travel bubble concept.
In addition, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang and Sarawak will remain under conditional MCO (CMCO) until May 17. – April 22, 2021
