NGO calls out Bersatu Youth for “Bangladeshis speak better BM” statement

BERSATU Youth information chief Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir saying that Bangladeshis speak better Bahasa Malaysia goes on to show how toxic the party members’ minds are, said a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

According to Malaysian Indian Voice (MIV) founder Pappa Raidu Veraman, a party with narrow-minded people are not fit to be citizens of a multinational country.

Ashraf had said this while reiterating his party’s stand that vernacular schools should be abolished in phases, adding that Bangladeshis, Pakistanis and Nepalese who have stayed in the country for a few months have better command of Bahasa Malaysia than non-Malay students in vernacular schools.

“The world is continuously looking for the root cause of language for humans, and some studies say that Tamil and Chinese languages are among the oldest languages in the world with several thousand years of history but unfortunately, this narrow-minded politician is unaware of this,” he remarked.

“Vernacular schools in the country being a hot topic of discussion especially closer to general election is a common practice of some narrow-minded politicians. This simply shows that they want to prove themselves to be patriotic and are true lovers of the national language.

“The rakyat should know that these are the true colours of the party and also some politicians

in the country. They lack a real plan to build unity among the races and would resort to comparing citizens with outsiders – most of whom are illegal immigrants.”

Pappa Raidu went on to urge Malaysians to not fall into the ‘election season racial topics’, adding that it is time for all Malaysians to stand with what is right and what is wrong.

“We should not allow this sort of venomous people to represent us in the State Assembly or the Parliament.

“I hope all Malaysians can stand together to protect our national language and other important languages like English, Chinese and Tamil.” – Dec 1, 2021
