PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated there is no urgent need for a Cabinet reshuffle.
This was despite the resignations of Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who lost their PKR deputy president and vice president posts.
According to Anwar, their duties will be temporarily covered by other ministers. He added that government affairs are proceeding as usual, and the Cabinet meeting will be informed about the ministers who will take over.
“There is no urgent need for a reshuffle now. Two ministers have resigned and given time to do what is necessary and take their leave. I have approved their leave requests,” he said.
Rafizi’s resignation was effective June 17, 2025, after leave from May 28 to June 16, and Nik Nazmi’s effective July 4, 2025, after leave from May 29 to July 3. —June 1, 2025
