THE Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (KUSKOP), through Bank Rakyat and SME Bank, will assist COVID-19-hit entrepreneurs in the tourism sector to restructure their loans.
Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar said the move was taken to help the entrepreneurs tide over the challenges brought on by the pandemic, as well to enable them to get back on their feet following the reopening of the country’s borders.
“KUSKOP’s role is to ensure that the entrepreneurs bounce back. We will help those involved in the tourism sector who need the assistance (loan structuring).
“It will help them become competitive again and manage their business better,” he said.
Noh said entrepreneurs in the tourism sector were also encouraged to apply for the commercial hire purchase-i financing for the purchase of transport vehicles for tourism. — April 17, 2022
