PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang stated that under the “Islamic governance” system proposed by PAS, no group, including non-Muslims, would be sidelined, as they too would be appointed to cabinet positions.
His remarks were made with regards to the governance model of the party should it form the government in the future.
However, the Marang MP noted that the portfolios entrusted to non-Muslims would not include ministries with the authority to formulate policies affecting Muslims.
According to him, appointing a non-muslims as Minister of Works or Minister of Forestry is permissible, but not the Minister of Islamic Affairs.

“It must be a Muslim; the implementation of Syariat requires a Muslim,” he said during his winding-up speech at the 72nd PAS Muktamar in Kota Bharu recently.
The news, carried by Malaysiakini on X, further triggered remarks from netizens in the comment section and this was what they said.
Netizen @Fhenomenal33, for example, pointed out that Hadi may have difficulty governing Malaysia with his lack of understanding of the English language.
Another netizen thinks Hadi should be the Prime Minister in his own heaven.
@MHasmarul further pointed out that all the states under PAS were under the low income category.
“Did you hear that, Gerakan,” said @realremstr while @adnilja2123 believes PAS is well suited to become the Minister of Slander Communication.
At least one thing is clear: if PAS ever forms the Government, Cabinet meetings may be easier to organise than the comment section on X.
