Nooryana explains “Daddy’s” sudden hospital trip

INCARCERATED former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was hospitalised due to recurring stomach issues he has, according to one of his daughters.

In an Insta Story posting today, Nooryana Najwa Najib said “Daddy” is highly prone to stomach ulcers that can flare up under stress or a gastritis episode.

“The last time his ulcers bled (last year), he was unaware of his condition until he felt very faint due to internal bleeding and was admitted quietly to the hospital for a week,” she said.

She also noted that her father was similarly admitted to the hospital to treat bleeding stomach ulcers back in 2010 and was hospitalised for three days.

“I know Daddy is not the kind (of person) who would complain if he feels unwell,” she added. “He doesn’t like to inconvenience anyone, even if (doing so) risks his own well-being.

“By the time he shows symptoms, it is usually too late.

“We caught both previous episodes too late, and thus, serious medical intervention was required, including blood transfusions.”

She expressed hope that her father would get consistent screening and treatment as well, if needed, by the Prison Department and the hospital Najib is being warded at.

“Please take care of our daddy and Bossku. He means the world to us.”

Yesterday (Sept 4), Najib was admitted to the hospital for reasons unknown to the media, just two weeks shy of going to prison.

The Pekan MP was, however, in stable condition and carried out the necessary medical tests.

Last month, the Federal Court rejected Najib’s final appeal in his RM42 mil SRC International corruption case and upheld his RM210 mil fine and 12-year jail sentence.
