Nova MSC introduces revolutionary VESALIUS.m mobile app at Penang’s Island Hospital

NOVA MSC Bhd, a leading provider of industry-focused application software and services for the healthcare sector, has unveiled its cutting-edge mobile application VESALIUS.m at the Island Hospital in Penang.

The cutting-edge mobile app is a testament to the group’s continued innovation and commitment towards enhancing healthcare services.

In 2020, the 600-bed Island Hospital replaced its ageing hospital information system with VESALIUS from Nova MSC.

Since late last year, Island Hospital has collaborated with Nova MSC to right-fit the VESALIUS.m mobile app in the quest to help the hospital harness mobile technology to improve patient experience and engagement.

As a heavy user of Nova MSC’s VESALIUS Hospital Information System (HIS), Island Hospital with nearly 100 doctors has deepened this partnership following the roll-out of VESALIUS.m mobile app aimed at improving overall patient satisfaction.

Among others, the app provides a user-friendly platform for patients to access essential medical information, manage appointments and access to programmes such as Little Explorers Kids Club for the young and Golden Pearl Club for the seniors.

“Nova MSC recognises that care delivery does not end when the patient or relative/s leave the hospital,” commented the group’s executive director Nazeroll Kasim on the project.

“Consequently, we developed a seamlessly integrated mobile app that is aimed at providing information such as doctors’ directory, patient’s visit & billing history, upcoming appointments and e-services such as appointment booking.”

Aside from building a stronger brand, Island Hospital is poised to benefit from building stronger patient engagements on the mobile platform.

The app’s features include a sophisticated booking system which allows patients to schedule and re-schedule appointments with ease and to access details like appointment times and clinic locations.

A stand-out feature is the real-time Queue Tracker which allows patients to monitor the queue status virtually, thus giving them the freedom to visit the hospital café or retail pharmacy without the fear of missing out on their turn.

Through the collaboration, Island Hospital was also able to introduce modules such as patient feedback, loyalty programs and health screening promotional packages coupled with instant appointment booking.

“The VESALIUS.m mobile app is a game-changer for our patients and staff. Its user-friendly interface and real-time updates provide convenience and efficiency, aligning with our commitment to delivering care in the best interest of our patients,” added Island Hospital’s chief of staff Lim Kooi Ling.

Looking ahead, Island Hospital plans to incorporate additional features into the app such as logistics arrangements and e-payments for patients, hence further transforming how the hospital delivers quality service.

At the close of today’s mid-day trading, Nova MSC was unchanged at 11 sen with 142,000 shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM131 mil. – Feb 15, 2024
