Now it is Dr Jason Leong’s turn to get chastised on Twitter

AFTER the massive backlash faced by standup comedian Jocelyn Chia on her MH370 jokes, it is now the turn of another comedian, Dr Jason Leong to trend on Twitter. He is also getting bashed but this time for apparently lending support to Chia.

In a thread on a comment, Dr Leong left on Chia’s social media platform. Twitter user@IAmRenegade1111 said:

Yesterday (June 9), FocusM published an article that said many Malaysians are up in arms with stand-up “comedian” Chia’s tasteless jokes about our country but it is not just because of MH370 but also because of her spiteful execution.

The Singapore-born comedian recently came under fire for making a joke about the disappearance of MH370.

The comedian posted a short clip of her show on Instagram and TikTok. Following the massive backlash from Malaysians, both platforms removed the video clip she posted.

Adding fuel to the fire, Dr Leong left a comment on Chia’s Instagram video of the performance, which read “I love this bit”.

Chia responded to Dr Leong’s comment, saying “People take jokes way too seriously”.

The local comedian Dr Leong is now being criticised by social media users for appearing to support Jocelyn Chia’s joke about MH370.

Someone called both Dr Leong and Chia ‘satanic’.

Several users are saying they were blocked by Dr Leong after attacking him on his social media accounts. Perhaps the comedian is not able to handle the critics, while he is free to criticise on stage?
