Nur Izzah accident: Istana Negara calls for prayers, speedy recovery

THE Istana Negara announced that the monarchs are praying for the speedy recovery of Malaysian student in the United Kingdom, Nur Izzah Mohd Shokri, who is now in coma after being involved in an accident.

In a post on Instagram, both the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and his consort Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah said that they were saddened by Nur Izzah’s plight and called for her family to be patient in this trying times.

“Their Majesties are sad over the tragedy that befell Nur Izzah and hoped that her family would be patient and resilient during this tough times.

“Please join Their Majesties and pray that Nur Izzah to be blessed with a speedy recovery and a return to good health,” the statement said.

Twenty-year-old Nur Izzah hails from Karak, Pahang is a first-year student majoring in accounting and finance at the University of Manchester.

She was reported to have suffered serious head and rib injuries after colliding with a bus while riding a bicycle on Wilmslow Road, Rusholme on Dec 28, at 4.25pm local time.

The Petronas-sponsored student went into a coma after undergoing surgery and now her parents Mohd Shokri Zainal, 56, and Hamidah Wahab, 46, are in England to attend to Nur Izzah. – Jan 3, 2021.
