Oasis Harvest acquires operator of De.Wan 1958 and Café Chef Wan for RM30.8m

MAIN Board-listed food & beverage (F&B) player Oasis Harvest Corp Bhd (formerly Dolphin International Bhd) has received green light from shareholders with over 99.99% votes in favour to acquire Metta Food & Lifestyle Sdn Bhd which operates the De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan and Café Chef Wan brands for RM30.8 mil cash.

The deal which comes with a two-year profit guarantee of RM5.6 mil marks a major milestone in Oasis Harvest’ journey as a F&B group.

It positions the group at the forefront of Malaysia’s dynamic F&B market by combining Oasis Harvest’s financial strength and strategic vision with Metta’s proven operational excellence and strong brand equity.

Co-founded by Malaysia’s celebrated national culinary ambassador Datuk Redzuawan Ismail a.k.a. Chef Wan and Andre Shum, De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan and Café Chef Wan brands operate premium dining brands that have become synonymous with authentic Malaysian gastronomy and modern lifestyle experiences.

Both De.Wan 1958 and Café Chef Wan which are award-winning names recognised by the Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2022, 2023 and 2024 will now form the cornerstone of Oasis Harvest’s premium F&B portfolio.

“We are truly encouraged by the overwhelming support from our shareholders. This approval represents a collective vote of confidence in our vision to build a strong, diversified F&B group,” commented Oasis Harvest’s executive director Ch’ng Eu Vern.

“The acquisition of Metta not only adds two iconic Malaysian brands to our portfolio but also unlocks exciting opportunities for growth, synergy and brand expansion across the region.”

Following the completion of the acquisition, Oasis will integrate Metta’s central kitchen and operational infrastructure with its existing F&B brands – including Uncle Don’s and Verona Trattoria – to enhance scale, streamline supply chains and achieve greater operational efficiency.

“This is just the beginning. Oasis is embarking on a proactive M&A (merger & acquisition) strategy to expand both organically and inorganically,” envisages Ch’ng.

“Our goal is to become one of Malaysia’s leading F&B conglomerates by delivering authentic dining experiences while championing Malaysian culinary excellence on the regional stage.”

The acquisition comes at a timely juncture as Malaysia’s F&B sector continues to experience robust growth, buoyed by increasing consumer spending, tourism recovery and rising appeal for local cuisine.

Oasis Harvest aims to leverage these market trends by combining its strong financial capabilities, brand synergy and innovative business models to drive sustainable long-term value creation for shareholders.

At the close of today’s (Oct 8) market trading, Oasis Harvest was unchanged at 20.5 sen with 34,200 shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM30 mil. – Oct 8, 2025
