Octogenarian believes in continuous learning

‘Never too old to learn’ is an adage which Datuk Zaibedah Hj Ahmad clearly holds very close to her heart. The 84-year-old was among the first candidates to sign up for HCK Real Estate Academy’s (HCK REA) property industry courses.

Attending the first session on ‘Professional Certificate in Property Investment’, Zaibedah wowed other attendees as well as the speakers with her attentiveness and ability to absorb myriad details that the course entails.

“I think everybody should never stop learning, as there are always things to learn,” she said enthusiastically while thumbing through the course notes and materials.

The session on ‘Property Investment’ is the first in a series of short courses that are being held at SEGi University’s Kota Damansara campus.

The other courses will cover topics such as ‘Maximising Property Rental Yield’ and ‘Marketing and Sales of Property’.

The first session was attended primarily by real estate agents who were keen to expand their knowledge of their industry, while some acknowledged the course was a great networking opportunity.

HCK REA was launched recently in collaboration with SEGi University in an attempt to enhance relevant stakeholders’ journey in the property industry.

By sharing insights from industry experts, it is hoped that attendees can better advise clients and make educated decisions regarding the property industry.

Dr Gooi Leong Mow

Speaking at the first session were Dr Gooi Leong Mow, Programme Leader (MBA) cum Postgraduate Lecturer for the Graduate School of Business at SEGi University Kota Damansara, as well as SR Phillip Loo, secretary-general of Malaysian Institute of Professional Estate Agents and Consultants.

At the end of the day’s session, Zaibedah was seen telling the other course attendees that she will see them at the other two upcoming sessions, having signed up for all three modules. She was, indeed, a right role model for the day, agreed the speakers and fellow attendees.
