PRIME Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has requested p-hailing riders (a term used to describe booking of motorcycles to deliver parcels and foods) to give him one week to meet with delivery operators with whom he would channel their concerns and grouses.
Anwar said this in a town hall meeting with the riders who threw several questions at him while voicing their grudges against their bosses altogether.
Among other, p-hailing riders had told Anwar that their order fees have been reduced from RM7 per order to less than RM5 to which the latter requested for a one-week period for him to arrange for a meeting with the operators.
“Give me one week and I will call up all p-hailing companies and meet them at the PM’s Office. I understand that making RM2,000 a month is not enough,” he told a question and answer (Q&A) session at the “Temu Anwar: Selangor X Belia P-Hailing” dialogue today.

“Let me air your views to them that the rate is too low. After everything’s settled, buy me a teh tarik.”
Anwar who is also the Finance Minister also announced a RM1 mil allocation to establish a formal committee for the riders. He said this will help ensure all their work-related problems could be channelled to the right platform.
“To streamline all of the riders’ activities nationwide, I have approved RM1mil to an informal secretariat to establish a committee,” he noted.
“I want all initiatives for p-hailing riders to continue and this is important because we do not want to be disorganised. And I understand there are various issues such as getting loans, insurance and others.” – July 22, 2023
