Pakatan Harapan’s PKR announces GE15 candidates, expecting more youth participation

PAKATAN Harapan’s PKR has fielded its candidates for the upcoming 15th general election (GE15) to be held on Nov 19.

The party has announced two young candidates. Julfitri Joha, the Malaysian Youth Council president who will be contesting in Negeri Sembilan and Fathin Amelina Fazlie, the youngest candidate at 28, and PHD candidate from Universiti Malaya (UM) will contest in Perlis.

Opposition leader,  Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the press conference today (Oct 26) said the coalition wants to see a change in the country’s political landscape.

“Pakatan is a people’s party, a place for all to participate and present the best minds to change this country.”

Meanwhile, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli welcomed more public participation as possible GE15 candidates stating, “We have opened up the party to everyone and those interested in becoming a candidate. Presently, we have a lot of fresh faces.” 

The other candidates announced today are  Datuk Zainal Azman Abu Seman who will be contesting in Perak, Datuk Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan in Pahang, Dr Noraishah Mydin Abd Aziz in Wilayah Persekutuan and Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz, the son of the late PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat will be contesting in Perak.

Anwar said that the rest of the GE15 candidates have yet to be finalised and will be announced on a latter date. – Oct 26, 2022
