A YOUNG lady has combined her artistic skills with her culinary know-how to strike jackpot gold. A clip on the East Coast Foodie Facebook page shows her artfully making pancakes adorned with all manner of cartoon characters.
From Dragonball to Upin & Ipin, each character was gracefully traced onto a pan using chocolate-flavoured batter. The rest of the colours (using vanilla flavoured batter) were then placed within those parameters for wonderful recreations.
All this using a freehand technique which amazed netizens. What was even more incredible was that she only charged RM10 per pancake!
Many netizens were in awe of her talent with some comparing her skills to their own.
One said that if she were to try, it’d be 100 pieces that the end product would still find its way into a bin.
Quite a few believed she could be rich and famous with her talent.
But what really surprised many was the price she was charging for her edible artwork, contending that RM10 did not tally with the skill, patience and craft required.
One surmised that perhaps that her very reasonable prices made it affordable for B40 segment by allowing parents to treat their kids.
With a few stressing that the price did not match the level of skill and artistry involved.
More than one did echo the sentiment that perhaps the seller was indeed trying to make her offerings affordable to the B40 community. Perhaps those who can afford to pay more should do so, opined some netizens.
As one netizen put it succinctly, profit isn’t everything for “passion is her prized possession”.
Another commenter reckoned that her efforts definitely deserved more which others wholeheartedly agreed.
FocusM would like to applaud the lady’s efforts and for her very reasonable pricing. Whatever the motivation, we urge more Malaysians to support home grown entrepreneurs.
Don’t be surprised at the long queue as word of her talent goes viral – or as a commenter put it, she has “no heart to eat those cute pancakes”. – Oct 31, 2024
