IN today’s pandemic-stricken world, digitalisation is no longer an option; it’s is now a necessity. However, despite being in the era of the new norm, businesses are still facing challenges adopting to new technology to meet the shifting market demands.
With that in mind, Cyberview Sdn Bhd held a Tech Talk Webinar series for 2021 to focus on digitalisation strategies, themed ‘Surviving a Pandemic: What It Means to Digitally Transform Your Business’.
Aimed at addressing the challenges and leveraging on opportunities faced by the smart mobility and property industries, the panel speakers also discussed how digitalisation can propel the economy forward.
The panellists in the webinar includes Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) director of business digital adoption Muhundhan Kamarapullai, CEO of Moovby Nik Muhammad Amin and NEXPlatform chief strategy officer .
According to Muhundhan, the digital economy’s contribution to Malaysia’s gross domestic product (GDP) was already quite significant pre-pandemic, at 19.1% and is expected to increase to over 20% by year end.
“Leaders need to think big in their digital transformation efforts, but start the journey on a small scale. Identify and focus on areas to improve, then grow fast. At the same time, keep an eye on competitors, assess their place within the digital journey map and start thinking of a ‘faster, cheaper and better’ strategy forward,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Lim explained that companies would need to learn how to utilise data to enhance its commercial and digital transformation strategies.
“The property industry is one of the largest asset classes, and yet is one of the least digitally transformed in this nation. In the wake of the pandemic, digital solutions and customer data solutions can help property players in their customer outreach and informed decision making,” he added.
As for Nik, being a Cyberview Living Lab Accelerator (CLLA) graduate, he acknowledged that in terms of digitalisation, there are immense benefits of working closely within a collaborative ecosystem like Cyberjaya, as it is already well-positioned to support a revolution in mobility. – Mar 5, 2021
