PARAGON Globe Bhd has forged an alliance with Selgate Properties Sdn Bhd to develop several private specialist hospitals in Malaysia.
Selgate Properties is a property arm of Selgate Corporation Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned company of Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor.
Under their Memorandum of Understanding , both parties will collaborate for two years in which the parties intend to collaborate for the mutual benefit of both parties.
The private specialist hospitals are intended to be operated by Selgate Corporation’s subsidiary, namely Selgate Healthcare Sdn Bhd.
Paragon Globe executive chairman Datuk Seri Edwin Tan Pei Seng said the company aspires to become a significant player in the healthcare and wellness segment by leveraging on Selgate’s experience and expertise in healthcare management, hospitals, clinics, dental, pharmacy, medical laboratories and home nursing.”
Group executive director Datuk Seri Godwin Tan Pei Poh added that both parties desire to explore the potential business opportunities in the healthcare and wellness industry to enhance potential earnings as well as to sustain business growth in a long-term perspective.”
Meanwhile, Selgate Properties Sdn Bhd executive chairman Noor Hisham Mohd Ghouth expressed that Selgate Corporation together with its subsidiaries, have successfully spearheaded the healthcare industry in Selangor.
Over the past few years, it becomes more evident that we should remain focused on bringing about a strong recovery in the healthcare space.
With this in view, we aim to diversify into the development of our own private specialist hospitals in Malaysia through our engine, Selgate Properties.”
He also added that the collaboration with Paragon Globe will thrive, and the benefits that come with it will echo through generations to come.
At the end of yesterday’s trading, Paragon Globe was down 0.5 sen or 12.2% to 36 sen with 2.05 million shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM269 mil – Sept 3, 2021
