Parliament: RM5 mil allocated to promote PM’s Malaysian Family campaign

THE Government has allocated a budget of RM5 mil to promote Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob “Malaysian Family” campaign.

“The funding comes from the Government’s Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 programme, under the communication ulan.

“It covers areas such as communication plan, creative content which includes infographic and brochures, short videos, audio recordings, television air time, print media advertisements, social media engagement and billboards,” said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Datuk Abdul Latiff Ahmad, in a written reply yesterday to Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil.

Since ascending the prime minister’s post, Ismail Sabri has launched the Malaysian Family concept to promote unity among the populace.

However, many have criticised the prime minister and accused him of merely paying lip service. One issue that drew widespread attention was when Budget 2022 was unveiled last year.

Under the budget, the bumiputera community received an allocation of RM11.4 bil while the Chinese and Indian communities put together only received RM345 mil. – July 19, 2022
