PAS activist moots 2 more defendants to be added into the Putra Heights gas pipeline blast civil suit

STATING that he views Petronas Gas Bhd as a victim of the Putra Heights gas pipeline blast on April 1, PAS Shah information chief Nurul Islam Mohamed Yusoff has called on the 36 homeowners who recently filed a legal suit against five parties to add two more defendants into their list.

They are the (i) Koridor Utiliti Selangor Sdn Bhd (KUSEL), a company wholly owned by the Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated; and (ii) Raid Synergy Sdn Bhd, a PETRONAS-appointed contractor who carried out work in the right-of-way (ROW) area where a Petronas Gas pipeline was located.

In the suit filed on Oct 17 at the Shah Alam High Court, the 36 plaintiffs are suing the Malaysian government, Petronas Gas, Hong & Hong Homes Sdn Bhd, Pinterest Ventures Sdn Bhd and the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ).

“According to the Selangor MB (Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari), KUSEL was the first to detect the Pinetrest Ventures contractor issue but what he did not explain is why the application was still extended to MBSJ,” justified Nurul Islam in a Facebook post. “He should have rejected it straight away.”

As for Raid Synergy, the PAS activist insisted that the former deserved to be sued by the residents if indeed they carried out works in the ROW area.

“However, this company was only mentioned once in the (Selangor) state assembly session by the Selangor MB and was not directly mentioned in the report by the investigation team,” observed Nurul Islam.

“As for Petronas Gas, I still believe it is a victim of the state government’s failure which led to the approval of problematic companies like Pinterest Ventures to undertake work in the ROW area. Hopefully, justice will prevail for the victims of the Putra Height incident.”

He added: “To my knowledge, it (Petronas Gas) has not issued work permits to Hong & Hong Homes and Pinetrest Ventures. If there is, please show me. I will then support the people to sue them.”

Earlier, Nurul Islam said he personally agreed that this lawsuit was filed for to ensure that the more than 150 victims who were made homeless and even injured to receive justice which was denied to them by both the Selangor state government and Malaysian government.

“Hong & Hong Homes is being sued because they are the developers of the shophouse project,” he revealed while their under disciplinary action contractor Pinetrest Ventures has been proven to having obtained the Planning Permission and Excavation Permit.

“MBSJ is being sued because they are the ones who gave approval to the contractor (Pinetrest Ventures) to start work even though it is proven that this company is under disciplinary action.” – Oct 22, 2025
