“Pas leaks”: Annuar Musa plays down expose, calls it nothing unusual

AN UMNO veteran urged the public not to play up the “PAS leaks” issue, allegedly containing a secret plan to bring down several UMNO leaders, as it was nothing out of the ordinary.

“Based on my checks, it just looked like some PAS leaders were trying to check on certain facts and views of other political party leaders.

“We don’t even know whether the document is authentic or otherwise,” Ketereh UMNO division chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa said.

Pressed on if the document was legitimate, the communications and multimedia minister defended PAS saying it was common for political rivals to try to bring down their opponents.

“Of course, if the party is part of our coalition and they attempted something similar, that is a different story.

“But UMNO has made it clear that we will not cooperate with PAS in the next general election,” Annuar mentioned.

In the supposed leaked document, it purportedly indicated a meeting between PAS vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan with other political figures from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, Parti Pejuang Tanah Air and several UMNO leader between March 24 and April 7.

According to the document, Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin told the PAS leaders that “the Attorney-General and Chief Justice have agreed to expedite the case and sentencing” of UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Following the expose, Zahid’s team have announced they will lodge a police report on the matter soon.

On related matter, UMNO supreme council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek “praised” Annuar for his “extraordinary” skills in diplomacy.

(My friend is amazing. Highest level of diplomacy which should be praised. Let’s debate on this) – April 23, 2022
