PAS loyalists want party sec-gen to sue pro-PH TikToker for linking BMW i7 with TAK 1 number plate to him

“WHY are some people so sensitive about cars, especially those used by PAS members? They seem to be worried that PAS members are rich and capable,” lamented Facebooker (FB) As Hasmah Ismail to a recent post by PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden.

This follows a clarification by the Alor Setar MP that the BMW i7 bearing the number plate TAK 1 is not owned by PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan whose nickname/initial of “Taki” bears semblance to the number plate.

“Based on information search of the JPJ (Road Transport Department) document, the TAK 1 car plate number is registered in the name of Lee Pei Nam,” penned Afnan on his FB page.

“When will Lee Pei Nam become Kota Bharu MP (alluding to Takiyuddin’s position as Kota Bahru MP)? 🤣Instead of being busy spying on people’s cars, it’s better for you guys to figure out how the ordinary people are able to fill up their tanks to make a living.”

The polemic surfaced after TikToker Raja Shahrim posed the question “who is the Kota Bahru MP” with the “clue car plate number TAK 1).’

The poster then went on to alleged that Takiyuddin is the owner of the “new 100% electric car priced at RM730,000 before tax and number plate (bidding) cost which could easily exceed RM1 mil”.

To justify his claim that the said BMW i7 does not belong to the opposition chief whip, Afnan who is also the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth chief further attached details of the car ownership as evidence.

Indeed, the revelation by Afnan who is the son of former Grand Imam of the National Mosque Datuk Taib Azamudden Md Taib has sparked furore among pro-opposition netizens who chastised how Pakatan Harapan (PH) supporters “are expecting PAS MPs to ride kapcai motorbike (Honda Cub) or old Datsun car”.

On a more serious note, some seemingly PAS loyalists have called for legal action to be taken against the culprit for spreading lies and malice about the car ownership (it is believed that the TikTok video post has been taken down by the site owner).

After all, Takiyuddin is himself a law graduate and a former minister in the prime minister’s department (parliament & law) during the 17-month PN administration. – April 24, 2024
