PAS Supporters’ Wing information chief Balachandran Gopal Krishnan urged non-Muslims to vote for PAS, claiming the party provides justice and well-being through Islamic principles.
He criticised Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for giving false hopes and encouraged non-Muslims to visit PAS-administered states like Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah to experience life under Islamic governance.
“So, they don’t have any other choice. They used to say that Anwar was there, but he had clearly given false hopes.
“If the Indians want to enjoy well-being and do not want to be sidelined, they must vote for PAS. That’s the current reality,” Harakahdaily quoted Balachandran as saying.
He called for a clear decision at the ballot box in the next general election, promoting PAS as the solution.
Two weeks ago, PAS amended its constitution to allow non-Muslims to join as associate members, provided they are not atheists.
The motion received unanimous support from over 1,300 delegates during the party’s annual congress (muktamar).
PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan then stated that non-Muslim members must follow a recognised religion such as Hinduism, Christianity, or Buddhism, but atheists cannot join. The congress took place from Sept 11 to 15, 2024.
To recall, a banner in the last general elections said voting for PAS and Perikatan Nasional means going to heaven. – Sept 28, 2024
