PAS is seemingly having the last laugh now that the Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Barisan Nasional (BN) mixed government pact “is in turmoil”.
This is given that after DAP’s Penang Deputy Chairman P. Ramasamy fired the first salvo of dissatisfaction against UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, it is the turn of Pasir Gudang PKR MP Hassan Abd Karim to express his dissatisfaction.
“In my opinion, BN-UMNO from this corrupt and breach of trust group can be likened to a virus that is infecting Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PKR and PH,” justified PAS mouthpiece Harakah Daily in its latest swipe directed at UMNO.
“There is no vaccine to deal with this toxic poison. The final path is likely to perish or death. Such is how humiliating BN UMNO is in the eyes of the PKR people.”
This led to PAS questioning if this is the true meaning of friendship when the truth is that UMNO which gave PH a lifeline is now considered a deadly virus.
“It is left to be seen if UMNO’s grassroots members who are working hard to defend their party can remain silent to accept such constant abuses from DAP and PKR, especially against their leaders and their party,” reckoned the PAS mouthpiece.
“Zahid may be comfortable with the position of Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and does not want to make trouble or magnify this friction, but what about the leadership and other UMNO members?”
Rubbing salt to the wound of UMNO’s ‘punctured ego’ Harakah Daily further took a swipe at UMNO by concluding that genuine UMNO fighters who have redeemed the country’s independence with blood and tears would never allow the Malay party to be insulted like how “DAP and PKR have insulted and humiliated UMNO’s dignity and self-respect”.
Earlier, the PAS mouthpiece teased BN-UMNO and PH for having hugged each other tightly after the 15th General Election (GE15) for wanting to hold on to power “while their party members, supporters and voters scratch their heads over what had hit them”. – Jan 17, 2023
