PAS to contest in 37 seats in Kelantan, Bersatu gets 8

KELANTAN is expected to announce the dissolution of the State Assembly (DUN) this week, paving the way for the state election (PRN) to be held.

PAS stated it is contesting in 37 DUN seats while Bersatu will contest in eight.

Kelantan Chief Minister Datuk Ahmad Yakob said that the announcement of the dissolution date is expected to be made after the weekly meeting of the State Executive Council (EXCO) on Wednesday (June 15).

“God willing, we will wait for the EXCO meeting this week,” he said with Kelantan Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah also confirming the matter.

Kelantan has 45 DUN seats, with seven seats represented by UMNO assembly members, one seat by Bersatu and the rest by PAS.

Furthermore,  PAS Kelantan liaison body secretary Wan Roslan Wan Hamat added that the seat allocation for the PRN has been finalised.

“Fundamentally, the seat allocation has been settled early on, with 37 seats for PAS and the rest for BERSATU, including seats previously won by UMNO,” Sinar Harian reported him as saying. – June 11, 2023
