KEDAH PAS commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yahaya has recently dubbed controversial Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as a “wow factor” that is able to attract electorate in the state to stick with the green wave, thus ensuring Perikatan Nasional (PN) emerges victorious in the Aug 12 state polls.
As the Islamist party’s “wow factor” has proven himself in the 15th General Election (GE15) last November with PAS sweeping 14 out of 15 parliamentary seats in Kedah, Ahmad who is also the PAS Dewan Ulamak chief said, the PN election machinery has decided to leverage the hashtags “#KekalSanusi” and “#TheGreaterKedah” to rally Kedahans.
Whether Ahmad is aware or otherwise, Sanusi’s tendency of going overboard by consistently lying through his teeth is a despising act that does not match his charisma and so-called great oratory ability.
Political observer Dr Tanaka Mustafa has suggested that while Sanusi can brandish a barrage of criticism on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PMX) at his ceramah, that should be within the realm of administration and governance.
“But last night (at the Jelajah Selangor Baharu Kita Bangkit ceramah in Selayang over the weekend), he rambled to the point of making strange and ugly theories about PMX, I think it is excessive and inappropriate for a PAS leader to express,” penned Dr Tanaka on his Facebook page.
“Although not wearing the Kedah MB hat on the ceramah stage – as he was supposedly wearing the PN election director’s hat – he still needs to look after his dignity as the Kedah PAS deputy commissioner.
“We don’t want those ugly and indecent/slumberous theories to invoke God’s wrath which will eventually lead to the collapse of PN’s powerful (election) machinery.”
Interestingly, Sanusi may fit into the definition of “pathological liar” that former twice premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad attributed to Anwar in his self-defence given Anwar now asserts that his so-called mentor had abused his power as PM between July 1981 and October 2003 by sanctioning bailouts when the latter had himself denied allegations of such abuse 25 years ago.
“In psychological terms, a wild pathological liar is a deceiver who deceives people in a state where he himself has drifted into his own world of deception. He will lie incessantly whether there is a reason or no reason,” defined Tanaka in an earlier post.
“He must have sunk deep into his own world of illusions and think all his illusions are true and will be angry and regard those who do not believe him as rejecting the truth.”
In the study of cheaters, there are several other types of cheater terms such as intentional cheater, manipulative cheater, protective cheater, avoidant cheater, impressive cheater, lazy cheater and tactful cheater – but all cheaters have their own reasons for cheating.
“But they are unlike the wild pathological liar who does not need a reason to lie; in fact, he can use the reasoning’s of all types of liars to be his reason if he wants to,” added Tanaka. – July 13, 2023
