PAS will work with anyone for the sake of Muslim solidarity, Hadi says

PAS PRESIDENT Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said that he is willing to work with anyone so as to unify Muslims and a multi-racial Malaysia.

“I will support anyone to strengthen the Muakafat Nasional charter. The pact is not exclusive to UMNO and PAS alone.

“We speak to everyone and will keep ourselves open. The idea is to unite Muslims and bring a multi-racial country together,” Harakah Daily reported him as saying.

Yesterday, Utusan Malaysia reported Hadi as planning to meet Parti Pejuang Tanah Air chairperson Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to discuss possibility of a cooperation.

He added that PAS was willing to work with any parties which are not extreme and liberal.

“Yes, we can work with anyone to unite the ummah. The meeting with Mahathir will be held,” the Special Envoy to the Middle East was reported as saying.

Recently, the media was abuzz after Hadi’s ally, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was reported to have met Mahathir to secure the latter’s support to become prime minister again.

However, Mahathir had since said that he had rejected Muhyiddin’s ideas and called the latter a backstabber. – April 2, 2022
