PAS Youth moots a nationwide lodging of police report against Ngeh Koo Ham

DESPITE having apologised, PAS Youth is adamant that Beruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham should be subjected to further sterner action of legal nature.

As such, a nationwide lodging of police report was held yesterday (Jan 1) by the movement against the Perak DAP chairman over his suggestion which called for non-Muslims to be included in a special committee formed by the Federal Government to study the Syariah law.

Masjid Tanah PAS Youth Council head Amirul Fahdzil Zahar has described Ngeh’s proposal as “cannot be taken lightly for it has gone beyond the limits”.

“Both the PAS Masjid Tanah division and its Youth wing have lodged a police report so that this matter is taken seriously and that appropriate action be taken against the Beruas MP,” he was quoted as saying by HarakahDaily after lodging a police report at the Masjid Tanah police station.

“Hopefully this will set an example to the society out there (non-Muslims) not to arbitrarily delve on religious sensitivities, especially in connection with Islam. PAS is also hopeful that the relevant authorities can take appropriate action against Ngeh as a lesson to all parties not to do repeat his action in the future.”

Earlier, PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has urged the authorities to take appropriate action to correct the people’s perception as if 3R (race, religion and royalty) issues are only synonymous with Perikatan Nasional (PN) but “turn a blind eye when it involves PH-BN-DAP (Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional-DAP)”.

“Although Ngeh has apologised and DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook has said the former’s statement is merely a personal statement, the people are aware of DAP’s attitude which never ceases from interfering in the affairs of Muslims,” the Kubang Kerian MP hit out.

“Remember that Ngeh has also spoken in the Parliament last year regarding the marriage between Muslims and non-Muslims abroad. Even worse, he also stressed the need to respect the wishes and not to dispute the rights of Muslims who apostatised in 2014.” – Jan 2, 2023
