Pecca gains certification to produce PPE

PECCA Group Bhd has acquired the certification to design, develop and manufacture personal protective equipment (PPE) for health, medical and allied personnel.

The ISO13485:2016 Quality Management System Certificate was obtained by a wholly-owned subsidiary, Pecca Leather Sdn Bhd (PLSB), and allows for the manufacture of non-woven jumpsuits, isolation full set covers, isolation cap covers, isolation shoe covers, face shields, 3-ply and KN95/N95 face masks for surgical/medical and general use.

“PLSB has also registered with the Medical Devices Authority (MDA) of Malaysia for the licence to commence the sale of PPE products,” said Pecca in its bourse filing dated Aug 7.

The group also noted that its subsidiary is applying for similar certification from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the CE marking from the European Union for its PPE products, which would then allow the group to export these products.

“PLSB is purchasing additional face mask machinery to expand its production capacity,” said Pecca.

At the end of the trading day, Pecca’s shares were at RM1.08, down 6 sen, with 18.3 million shares traded. – Aug 7, 2020
